UK 2016, 72 mins (dir. Fiona Murphy) historical documentary.
This fascinating documentary looks back to a period over 100 years ago when, after the collapse of the Ottoman Empire, Britain invaded what was to become modern-day Iraq. Amongst the peoples they found there was an ancient Jewish community, established in Baghdad some 2,600 years until they left as refugees a generation ago. It is through the eyes of this community, through a series of personal testimonies that this remarkable documentary builds up a picture of the fateful developments in that society, culminating in the coming to power of Saddam Hussein.
