Painting Highgate: Landscape painting inspired by the local surrounds

Led by local artist David Caldwell, the class will explore techniques and approaches to picture-making with Highgate as its subject. Tapping into the visual potential of local beauty spots within the historical Highgate Village, there will be opportunities to sketch en plein air and to gather resources for work within the classroom. Working as a group with a shared theme, students will be encouraged to express their own ideas within a supportive and encouraging environment. Various drawing and painting techniques will be covered, with students invited to work in their preferred medium. All levels welcome.
